We would like to announce a great news to all of you and request your prayer:

In view of the drug abuse problem among young people is getting more serious than anytime in the past, we had proposed to the Government to refocus the target clients of Mission Ark from male adults to teenagers and young persons. At the same time, the Mission Ark had applied for a permanent rehabilitation treatment centre for these young drug abusers in a closing school premise at Peng Che, Fanling from the Government last year.

We recently received a reply from the Lands Department offering us to use the abovementioned close school premise as a rehabilitation centre on a temporary basis. Consultation with other Government Departments is being conducted.  We are confident that with God’s blessings, we must have great opportunity to move on with the project.

The school situates at a very convenient place with an area of 170,000 square feet, including a main building, a hall, a football field, a basketball court and many basic necessities. God is such a miracle!

We need to adopt a modern and multi-disciplinary approach to address existing drug abuse problem of young people. Hence, we plan to establish a Special Training College which aims to train young drug abusers according to their potentials and aptitude. We plan to set up a College of various faculties to cater different needs of individual clients.  For instance, we will provide academic course of normal secondary school curriculum to those clients who would like to continue their studies and enter the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination. This will enhance their employability to work in the community in future. Besides, we will also provide multi skills learning and training such as organic gardening, art performance, recreational and sports training, philosophy and religious studies… etc.

Regarding philosophy and religious studies, our Association has liaised with Vision International University, USA to conduct various recognised certificate, diploma and associate degree courses to our clients. After completion, they may continue their studies in universities overseas.

We are now forming a School Establishment Committee. May God bless us to choose the right persons to the Committee who will continue to communicate with various Government Departments for their support to our plan.  Finally, we depend ALL to the God and let Him does the rest.
